Paramount Home Entertainment has revealed the specs and special features for the upcoming Blu-ray release of the Tom Cruise classic film '
Top Gun', due to hit store shelves on July 29th. Video will be presented as 2.35:1 1080p AVC accompanied by a 5.1 Dolby TrueHD and a 6.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtracks.
Extras, which mirror the special edition DVD release but greatly exceed those found on the previously released HD DVD, include:
- Audio Commentary with producer Jerry Bruckheimer, director Tony Scott and co-screenwriter Jack Epps, Jr.
- Featurette "Danger Zone: The Making Of Top Gun"
- Multi-angle storyboard comparison
- Stills gallery
- Music videos
- TV spots
The DTS-HD Master Audio track was not available on the HD DVD, and will be a first for the studio.
