Blu-ray Recorders Taking Japan by Storm

Market research firm BCN, Inc. has determined that during the month of April, sales of Blu-ray recorders for the first time exceed those of DVD recorders. Additionally, Blu-ray recorders made up 32 percent of the overall optical disc player/recorder sales for the month. Sales are 21 time higher than this time last year, showing that Japan is adopting Blu-ray at a record pace.
Panasonic led in sales, with 46 percent of the market, followed by Sony with 38% of Blu-ray recorder sales.
