Bong Joon-ho and The Weinstein Company have come to an agreement to release the South Korean director's latest film, Snowpiercer (2013), uncut in the U.S. However, instead of a wide release, the film will have a limited release plus a roll out to other platforms.
Based on the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige, Snowpiercer is set in AD 2031 and tells the story of a group of survivors stranded on a train in a post-apocalyptic world covered by snow and ice. The film stars stars Chris Evans, Octavia Spencer, Tilda Swinton, Song Kang-ho, Jamie Bell, and John Hurt.
Snowpiercer is Bong Joon-ho's first English-language film. Other films directed by Bong Joon-ho that have been released on Blu-ray include: Memories of Murder, The Host, Tokyo!, and Mother. (Click on the links to read Blu-ray.com's reviews of these releases).
