British distributors Dogwoof have acquired Mike Myers' (Austin Powers Collection) directorial debut, Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon. The film tracks the career of legendary producer Shep Gordon, who managed such artists as Alice Cooper, Blondie and Anne Murray.

Dogwoof will release the film theatrically in the UK, and will give it its European debut at the upcoming European Film Market in Berlin. Radius-TWC will release theatrically in the US early Summer 2014, premiering at SXSW.

Following the official announcement Dogwoof's Anna Godas said: "Supermensch is an irresistible story of a true legend, and entrepreneur and business man who created the rules for entertainment management, but most importantly this is a film with so much soul. We are so proud to be working with Shep, Mike and the A&E team and cannot wait to take it to market".

Official synopsis: Supermensch is the story of Shep Gordon, the ultimate celebrity insider, manager, producer and go-to man. The film covers over 30 years of Shep's life from his early days as the manager of acts such as Alice Cooper, Blondie, and Anne Murray; to his foray into film production; and his work with top chefs like Emil Lagasse which ultimately created the cult of the "celebrity chef". Narrated by Shep, the film also includes fantastic archival material and interviews with Shep's friends: Michael Douglas, Alice Cooper, Willie Nelson, Emil Lagasse and many more.
