Liam Neeson will star in acclaimed director Martin Scorsese's next film, Silence. The Irish star joins Ken Watanabe and Andrew Garfield. Shooting of the film is expected to start in Taiwan this summer.
Silence follows closely a group of 17th century Jesuits who risk their lives to bring Christianity to Japan. The film will be based on Japanese director Shusaku Endo's popular novel of the same name.
The American director's latest film, The Wolf of Wall Street, a crime thriller adapted from the 1990 best seller by Jordan Belfort, a former Wall Street trader who was jailed for fraud and inside trading, has been nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Achievement in Directing and Best Motion Picture of the Year.
Neeson's latest film, A Million Ways to Die in the West, a zesty period comedy directed by Seth MacFarlane, is set to open in theaters across the United States on May 30th. (You can see a trailer here).
