German label Kocjh Media has officially announced and detailed its upcoming Blu-ray release of director Rick Rowley's Dirty Wars (2013). The release will be available for purchase online and in stores across Germany on February 20th.
Dirty Wars has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary. Last year, the film also won Cinematography Award (for elevating the art of observational cinema through sophisticated lensing and electric color pallette) at the Sundance Film Festival.
Synopsis: Documentary film which aims to uncover America's involvement in numerous covert wars being fought in countries such as Afghanistan, Yemen and Somalia. Investigative journalist and author Jeremy Scahill travels to these locations while speaking to those involved including CIA agents and local warlords. As they continually testify to the ongoing clandestine military action the United States conducts through organisations such as the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), the speakers unearth one of the modern world's best-kept secrets.
