Scream Factory, the horror-thriller offshoot of independent film distributor Shout Factory, has confirmed that it plans to bring to Blu-ray director Antonia Bird's
Ravenous (1999), starring Guy Pearce, Robert Carlyle, David Arquette, Jeffrey Jones, Jeremy Davies, and John Spencer. The release is expected to arrives on the U.S. market in June.
Synopsis: The Sierra Nevada mountains, 1847. A bedraggled stranger (Robert Carlyle) stumbles into Fort Spencer, claiming to be Colquoun, a settler who has been trapped in a mountain cave by a snowstorm. He reports that his fellow cave-dwellers have been reduced to cannibalism and that he was lucky to escape with his life. Captain John Boyd (Guy Pearce) and his army colleagues accompany Colquoun back to the cave, only to uncover a far more grisly version of events. With a score by Michael Nyman and Blur's Damon Albarn.
