German distributors Alive have revealed that they are planning to release on Blu-ray director Stanley Donen's
Bedazzled (1967), starring Raquel Welch, Peter Cook, Dudley Moore, Eleanor Bron, and Alba. In addition to the original film, this Limited Edition release (2BD/DVD), will also contain director Harold Ramis' remake, starring Brendan Fraser, Elizabeth Hurley, and Frances O'Connor. The preliminary release date set by the distributors is March 14th.
Bedazzled (1967)
Classic 1960s comedy updating of the Faust story, as short-order cook Dudley Moore becomes obsessed with waitress Eleanor Bron and will do anything to win her love. When the Devil (Cook) turns up, Moore agrees to sell his soul in return for seven wishes.
Bedazzled (2000)
Remake of the 1967 Dudley Moore and Peter Cook classic in which Brendan Fraser plays computer technician Elliot, who falls for Elizabeth Hurley's devilish charms, and agrees to sell his soul to her for seven wishes. He then uses the wishes to seek happiness with his co-worker Alison (O'Connor), the girl he really loves. However, each time Hurley's Devil makes his dreams come true she adds a twist all of her own, making the hapless Elliot wish things were left just as they were at the beginning. This special edition features the deleted 'Rockstar' sequence.
