Independent distributors VCI Entertainment have confirmed that they are planning to bring to Blu-ray director Joseph Losey's war drama
King & Country (1964), starring Dirk Bogarde, Tom Courtenay, Leo McKern, Barry Foster, Peter Copley, Vivian Matalon, and James Hunter. A preliminary street date for this upcoming release has not yet been revealed.
Set in WWI, Dirk Bogarde plays an arrogant soldier assigned to defend Arthur Hamp (Tom Courtenay), a slow-witted private who faces the death penalty for desertion. Initially impatient to have the case over so that he can get back to the war, Bogarde comes to realise that Hamp is innocent, shell-shocked and a little simple.
