IFC Films has acquired the North American rights to cult Spanish director Alex de la Iglesia's latest film, Las brujas de Zugarramurdi a.k.a Witching and Bitching (2013), starring Javier Botet, Carmen Maura, Mario Casas, Santiago Segura, Carolina Bang, and Hugo Silva. The film, which was the last one to be screened in Toronto Film Festival's Midnight Madness, will arrive in U.S. cinemas in 2014.
Plot synopsis: A group of jewelry theives are hunted down by a pack of witches in this horror comedy from the imaginative mind of Spanish auteur Alex de la Iglesia.
