HBO Home Entertainment has officially announced the Blu-ray release of David Simon and Eric Overmyer's
Treme: The Complete Fourth Season, as well as a
Complete Series box set that includes all four seasons plus an exclusive bonus disc that offers fifteen music videos from the series. Both sets arrive on January 28, 2014, soon after the series finale airs.
Synopsis: Over the course of its four seasons,
Treme has used the interweaving tales of a community of musicians, artists, politicians and regular citizens of New Orleans to shine a light on the devastation left by Hurricane Katrina and to demonstrate that the power of music and cultural traditions can overcome corruption.
The Complete Fourth Season begins in 2008 and culminates at Mardi Gras 2009, revisiting the musicians, chefs, Mardi Gras Indians and other familiar New Orleanians who continue to rebuild their lives, homes and culture in the aftermath of Katrina.
Heightened by the historic election of President Barack Obama, the promise of economic and cultural recovery in New Orleans is tempered by sobering economics, continued police corruption and the ongoing specter of violence and crime. More than three years after the flood, nothing in the civic firmament seems to work as it should. New Orleanians are subject to corrupt and brutal law enforcement, a fragile school system and economic priorities that almost willfully exclude the people who need help. But one thing works: the culture.

HBO has yet to reveal the full list of bonus features for
The Complete Fourth Season. The
Complete Series set will include all available extras, as well as the aforementioned exclusive bonus disc. Each episode of the series is presented in 1080p with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround.
