UK distributors Park Circus have announced that they will screen director Frank Capra's
It's A Wonderful Life digitally at over 200 cinemas across the UK this December. In addition to over one hundred independent cinemas, the film will screen at all Cineworld, Picturehouse and Everyman cinemas in the run up to Christmas.
Key independent cinemas who have now made the film an annual treat for their audiences include: Glasgow Film Theatre, Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and Rex Berkhampstead.
The 1946 film, owned by Paramount Pictures and distributed by Park Circus, starring James Stewart as George Bailey, the man who wishes he had never been born, has established itself over many years as a firm Christmas favourite in the hearts of the cinema going public.
Park Circus Managing Director Nick Varley said, "For many people Christmas really wouldn't be Christmas without this film, it has become such a part of peoples' festive tradition that we are pleased to be presenting the film back on the big screen in possibly the widest release since the film was first premiered.
There are some experiences that need to be shared with other people and we believe this film, and its message, can only truly be appreciated in the company of others, in a cinema."
