British distributors Artificial Eye have officially announced and detailed their upcoming Blu-ray release of director Clio Barnard's second film The Selfish Giant (2013), starring Conner Chapman, Shaun Thomas, and Sean Gilder. The release will be available for purchase on January 27th, 2014.
Earlier this year, The Selfish Giant won Label Europa Cinemas Award at the Cannes Film Festival.
Teenage friends Arbor (Conner Chapman) and Swifty (Shaun Thomas) have both been excluded from school and with no real prospects for the future the two resort to collecting scrap metal as a means of making money. As a relationship develops between the two boys and the local scrapdealer Kitten (Sean Gilder), Arbor's growing greed creates tension in the friendship and ultimately spells the end of their potential...
