Hail Mary
Denounced by the Pope and banned and boycotted worldwide, this surprisingly serene and lyrical work translates the Virgin Birth into tangible contemporary terms, with Mary as a teenage basketball-playing gas-station attendant who receives the Annunciation by jetliner. Mary is a beautiful yet ordinary teenager who vows to maintain her chastity. Following a warning from an angel, a confused and innocent Mary unexpectedly falls pregnant and is forced to wed her taxi-driving boyfriend Joseph. He, in turn, must love his virgin bride from a distance, revering her without touching her. Forced to face a shocking reality, Mary and Joseph along with their family and friends must struggle to cope as the provocative theme unfolds.

A grizzled film director sets out with several members of his household (including the fictitious granddaughter of Albert Camus) to stage a Musset play in embattled Sarajevo. As these modern-day Quixotes proceed on their fool's quest through the bloody chaos of Bosnia, Godard provides witty, wintry updates of earlier masterpieces, including
Weekend (journey of bourgeois buffoons through an apocalyptic, neo-barbarian landscape),
Les Carabiniers (absurdist war film with offhand atrocities) and
Contempt (contentious filmmaking by the sea, with ranting producer, exasperated actress, and pornographic dialogue).
For Ever Mozart mixes fast-paced intellectual vaudeville with graceful philosophical reflections and startling moments of quiet beauty that pierce through the rapid-fire barrage of quotation and gunfire. Terraferma
Italy's official submission to the Best Foreign Language Film category of the 84th Academy Awards, 2012. Set on and around a summer tourist island off the coast of Sicily, Terraferma tells the story of two struggling, yet disparate families, whose members become fatefully intertwined. Starring Filippo Pucillo, Donatella Finocchiaro, and Beppe Fiorello. Street date: January 14th.
The Prey
Franck Adrien, a bank robber convicted of a heist and sentenced to six months in prison, shares a cell with seemingly weak Jean Louis Morel. But once Morel gets released from behind bars, Adrien learns that Morel is really a sadistic serial killer who now knows private details about Adrien's life.
