German label Koch Media has announced that it will release on Blu-ray director W.D. Richter's cult adventure comedy
The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension (1984), starring Peter Weller, John Lithgow, Ellen Barkin, Jeff Goldblum, Christopher Lloyd, and Vincent Schiavelli. The release will arrive on the German market on November 29th.
Synopsis: Peter Weller stars in this (now cult) sci-fi/fantasy film which satirizes generic conventions. Weller plays Banzai the multipurpose hero who crashes into a mountain upsetting the evil Doctor Lizardo's (John Lithgow) plans for nuclear war and world domination by releasing some Black Lectoids from Planet 10. Only Banzai can save the world, and he has to enlist the help of a New Jersey cowboy/brain surgeon (Jeff Goldblum).
