British distributors Artificial Eye have informed us that they are planning to bring to Blu-ray director Clio Barnard's second film The Selfish Giant (2013), starring Conner Chapman, Shaun Thomas, and Sean Gilder. The preliminary release date set by the distributors is January 20th, 2014.
Earlier this year, The Selfish Giant won Label Europa Cinemas Award at the Cannes Film Festival.
The film is set to open in cinemas across the United Kingdom on October 25th.
Teenage friends Arbor (Conner Chapman) and Swifty (Shaun Thomas) have both been excluded from school and with no real prospects for the future the two resort to collecting scrap metal as a means of making money. As a relationship develops between the two boys and the local scrapdealer Kitten (Sean Gilder), Arbor's growing greed creates tension in the friendship and ultimately spells the end of their potential...
