Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has officially announced the Blu-ray/DVD/UltraViolet Combo Pack release of director James Wan's The Conjuring, starring Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Ron Livingston and Lili Taylor. The well-received horror film was a surprise success at the box office earlier this summer, thanks to strong reviews and enthusiastic word of mouth. The Conjuring arrives on Blu-ray in time for Halloween, on October 22nd.
Synopsis: Before there was Amityville, there was Harrisville. Based on a true story, The Conjuring tells the horrifying tale of Ed and Lorraine Warren (Wilson and Farmiga), world-renowned paranormal investigators who were called upon to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.
The film also stars Joey King, Shanley Caswell, Haley McFarland, Mackenzie Foy, Kyla Deaver and Sterling Jerins, from a script by Chad and Carey W. Hayes.
The Blu-ray release of The Conjuring is presented in 1080p with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround, includes both a DVD and UltraViolet digital copy of the film, and features several extras:
