The UK branch of Universal Studios will release two classic films directed by Spike Lee:
Do the Right Thing (1989), starring Danny Aiello, Ossie Davis, Ruby Dee, and John Turturro, and
Clockers (1995), starring Harvey Keitel, Mekhi Phifer, John Turturro, Delroy Lindo, and Isaiah Washington. The two releases will be available for purchase on November 4th.
There are no special features listed for these upcoming releases.
Clockers
A hard-hitting Spike Lee film with a very disturbing opening credits sequence. Strike (Phifer) is a Clocker (24-hour drug dealer) who becomes implicated in the murder of a rival after a tip off. Two cops investigate, Mazilli (Turturro - looking for a quick solution) and Rocco (Keitel - looking for the truth). When Strike's brother confesses to the shooting, Rocco decides to find the real killer.
Do the Right Thing
Spike Lee's study of racial tensions takes place on the hottest day of the year in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, New York. The film charts the increasing tension between a black pizza delivery boy (Spike Lee) and his Italian bosses, the local folk and yuppy newcomers, and builds inexorably to a violent confrontation.
