Independent U.S. distributors Scorpion Releasing have confirmed that they are preparing a Blu-ray release of director Robert M. Young's drama
Short Eyes (1977), starring Bruce Davison, José Pérez, Nathan George, and Luis Guzmán. The release is expected to arrive on the U.S. market in early 2014.
Grim, graphically violent drama in which the life of a man arrested for child sex offences turns into a living hell in prison. Based on Miguel Pinero's experiences while in Sing Sing prison, the story follows Clark Davis (Davison), arrested for suspected child-molestation, who is sent to a notoriously harsh prison, to be confronted by the dregs of society. Although they have committed their own heinous crimes, the inmates regard 'short eyes', prison slang for sex-offenders, as the lowest-of-the-low, and, in the following days and weeks, Davis is subjected to a series of appallingly brutal acts.
