Independent distributors Scorpion Releasing will bring to Blu-ray two cult drive-in comedies: Joseph Ruben's
The Pom Pom Girls (1976), starring Robert Carradine, Jennifer Ashley, and Michael Mullins, and Bud Townsend's
The Beach Girls (1982), starring Debra Blee, Val Kline, and Jeana Keough. The two release will arrive on the U.S. market in November.
The Pom Pom Girls
High school football player Johnnie is going to spend his senior year at Rosedale High School playing pranks and getting together with as many girls as possible. He and a buddy, along with two cheerleaders, are going to make their last year memorable. The Big Game with rival Hardin High School is approaching, and a prank war is about to rev into full swing.
Cult diva Cheryl "Rainbeaux" Smith (
The Swinging Cheerleaders) has a cameo appearance as, what else, a member of the cheerleading squad! Street date: November 19th.
The Beach Girls
It's a nonstop vacation celebration with The Beach Girls. The beautiful Sarah heads for the beach to spend a few weeks quietly working on her tan and relaxing peacefully at her Uncle Carl's palatial beach house in Malibu. But when her rowdy girlfriends Ginger and Ducky show up unannounced and ready to party, Uncle Carl's serene beach retreat turns into a loud, rip-roaring celebration that would make even a Roman orgy pale by comparison. Street date: November 12th.
