Warner Brothers has asked James Gray to write and direct White Devil, a contemporary drama based on the true story of John Willis, a Dorchester, Massachussets resident who was adopted by a Chinese family and became one of the leaders of the Chinese mafia in the area.
The real John Willis, also known as "White Devil John", was arrested earlier this year for drug-trafficking.
The following films directed by James Gray are currently available on Blu-ray in the United States: The Yards, We Own the Night, and Two Lovers. The director's acclaimed first film, Little Odessa, was previously released on DVD but is now out of print.
