Carlotta Films is bringing back to French cinemas acclaimed director Billy Wilder's (Sunset Boulevard, Kiss Me, Stupid) Fedora (1978), starring William Holden, Marthe Keller, Michael York, Mario Adorf, José Ferrer, and Hildegard Knef. The film is set to open in select cinemas on August 21.
Fedora was recently restored in 2K by Bavaria Media in cooperation with CinePostproduction, Germany. Earlier this year, the new restoration was screened in the Classics section of the Cannes Film Festival.
Official synopsis: This 1978 film directed by Billy Wilder and starring William Holden and based on a story called Crowned Heads by Thomas Tryon follows the problems of an aging Hollywood filmmaker who tries to lure Fedora, a reclusive aging film star, back into the limelight. Henry Fonda appears in a small role.
