Eddie Murphy and Paramount Team Up for Beverly Hills Cop 4

Paramount Pictures has asked Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec to write a script for a new Beverly Hills Cop film. According to early reports, Eddie Murphy has already agreed to return as Detective Axel Foley.

Appelbaum and Nemec also penned the script for Brad Bird's Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011), starring Tom Cruise and Jeremy Renner.

Earlier this year, Paramount Pictures chairman and CEO Brad Grey announced that the studio is also teaming up with Sony Pictures Television to co-produce a pilot for a series based on Martin Brest's original film. See our news article here.
