The Weinstein Company and Celestial Pictures have teamed up to produced English-language remakes of Sun Chung's
The Avenging Eagle (1978) and King Hu's
Come Drink With Me (1966). The scripts for these upcoming productions will be written by John Fusco, who is also working on the script for
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2: The Green Destiny.
Following the announcement for the two remakes Harvey Weinstein said: "Shaw Brothers and Sir Run Run Shaw were responsible for ushering some of the first great, legendary Asian filmmakers and acting talent onto the world stage. It's an exciting opportunity to be bringing new life to these two classic films and taking them into the global market with Celestial Pictures."
