Breaking Glass Pictures has revealed that it plans to bring to Blu-ray director Xavier Dolan's Laurence Anyways (2012), starring Melvil Poupaud, Suzanne Clement and Nathalie Baye. The preliminary release date set by the studio is October 1.
Last year, Laurence Anyways won Queer Palm and Un Certain Regard Award for Best Actress (Suzanne Clement) at the Cannes Film Festival. It also won Best Canadian Feature Film Award at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Set in the 90's, Laurence Anyways tells the story of a man who tries to salvage his relationship with his fiancée after revealing to her his aspirations of becoming a woman. Laurence Anyways is the story of a wild and unusual love. The film is complimented by a soundtrack featuring tracks by Depeche Mode, The Cure, Duran Duran, Celine Dion, and Fever Key, amongst others.
