Skyfall is the biggest-selling home video release in the United Kingdom this year. According to data provided by Official Charts Company, the mega-blockbuster has sold over 2.8 million units on Blu-ray and DVD.
In 2013,
Skyfall has been the only title to sell more than 2 million units.
The Hobbit, Les Miserables and
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2 have all sold over one million units.
Official Charts Company, which monitors the UK market and gathers data from industry-recognized sources, made the above announcement earlier today.
Official Charts Company chief executive Martin Talbot also said that ""DVD and Blu-ray continues to be a hugely popular entertainment format – either as a personal treat or a gift."
The top ten biggest-selling Blu-ray releases of 2013 so far are as follows:
