Romantic comedy starring Audrey Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart. Sabrina Fairchild (Hepburn) is the impressionable daughter of the chauffeur to the wealthy Larabee family. Her childhood crush on David Larabee (William Holden), the playboy younger brother, goes unnoticed until she returns a woman from finishing school in Paris. When David's dalliance with Sabrina places a lucrative business deal at risk, hard-headed elder brother Linus (Bogart) steps in and decides to woo her himself. Street date: September 2.
Funny Face
Romantic musical comedy starring Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire. Jo Stockton (Hepburn) is a bookshop worker with intellectual pretensions. Discovered by the editor of a top fashion magazine and asked to become the figurehead of a new collection, Jo is talked into going to Paris by photographer Dick Avery (Astaire), and they soon become romantically involved. The all-singing, all-dancing Technicolor extravaganza features classic songs by George and Ira Gershwin. Street date: September 2.
An Officer and a Gentleman
Romantic drama starring Richard Gere. When US Navy recruit Zack Mayo (Gere) begins the 13-week basic training course which will qualify him to attend flight school, he immediately comes into conflict with the tough, no-nonsense Sergeant Foley (Louis Gossett Jr). Foley selects Mayo as the special recipient of his sadistic attentions, but the recruit refuses to be broken and meanwhile finds solace in his developing relationship with local factory girl Paula Pokrifki (Debra Winger). The film won Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor (Gossett Jr) and Best Original Song ('Up Where We Belong' written by Jack Nitzsche, Buffy Saint-Marie and Will Jennings). Terms of Endearment
James L Brooks' multi-Oscar-winning film about the volatile relationship between the over-bearing Aurora (Shirley Maclaine) and Emma (Debra Winger), the daughter who cannot wait to escape her clutches. The story covers 30 years, and ranges from Emma's late-teens, her marriage to Flap Horton (Jeff Daniels), Aurora's difficulties facing her new role as a grandmother, and her relationship with Garrett Breedlove (Jack Nicholson), an ex-astronaut who is constantly searching for excitement in his life. The story then moves toward a tragic, tear-jerking conclusion, as Emma discovers that she has cancer. Street date: September 2.
Team America: World Police
Outrageous satirical comedy from the creators of 'South Park', with puppets. In the 'War on Terror' Team America is the United States' first line of defence, an elite unit of counter-terrorist operatives whose adventures take them all over the world - frequently destroying most of it as they go. When the team learn that evil Korean dictator Kim Jong-Il is planning to destroy the world, they recruit a Broadway star to go undercover in his hideout. On the way, the team manage to wipe out lots of real-estate as well as take on bleeding-heart, liberal Hollywood celebrities like Sean Penn and film-maker Michael Moore. Street date: September 9.
