Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures and Fox 2000 Pictures, a division of Twentieth Century Fox, have teamed up to produce a remake of the classic '80s horror film Poltergeist. Production will begin later this autumn.
Gil Kenan (Monster House, City of Ember) will direct the upcoming remake, which will be based on a script by David Lindsay-Abaire ( Rise of the Guardians, Oz the Great and Powerful).
Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, and Roy Lee will produce the film. Nathan Kahane will be the executive producer.
The original film was directed by Tobe Hooper and it was based on a story by Steven Spielberg. The film is already available on Blu-ray courtesy of Warner Brothers. See our listing and review of this release here.
