For the week that ended on June 16th, Walt Disney's Oz the Great and Powerful occupied the number one spot on the Blu-ray-only and overall media rankings. Directed by Sam Raimi (Spider-Man), this blockbuster prequel to the iconic Wizard of Oz scored big with audiences last March despite garnering mediocre critical notices (it currently has a 44% Metacritic score); the film grossed almost $500 million worldwide on top of its $215 million budget. In addition to its top sales figures, Oz the Great and Powerful had a Blu-ray market share of 46%.

Next up on the overall package media and Blu-ray-only lists was Paramount's Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters. A bloody updating of the popular fairy tale, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters overcame poor press - star Jeremy Renner was visibly unenthused about the picture during its promotional season, and its Metacritic score is 21% - to become a sleeper hit this past winter; the budgeted-at-$50-million horror-comedy made over $225 million worldwide. Hansel & Gretel sold 73% as many Blu-rays as Oz the Great and Powerful and had a solid HD market share of 56%, and on the overall package media chart, the movie sold 60% as many total units as the Disney adventure.

Finally, Twentieth Century Fox's A Good Day to Die Hard rounded out the third place on the Blu-ray-only chart. The latest installment in the Die Hard franchise, A Good Day to Die Hard was also the series' most divisive entry; although it grossed over $304 million worldwide on top of its $92 million budget, its Metacritic score was just 28%. The picture, which was number one during its first week of sales, had a Blu-ray market share of 55% and sold 33% as many Blu-rays as Oz the Great and Powerful. However, when taking into consideration overall package media, Snitch beat out A Good Day to Die Hard for the third-place spot, selling 34% as many total units as Oz and pulling a Blu-ray market share of 29%.
