Having been delayed in 2012, the Blu-ray release of director Bob Rafelson and screenwriter David Mamet's
The Postman Always Rings Twice (1981) has a new release date: September 3rd. The film is an adaptation of the 1934 James M. Cain novel and the 1946 Tay Garnett crime drama of the same name, and stars Jack Nicholson, Jessica Lane and John Colicos.
Synopsis: In rural California, drifter Frank Chambers (Nicholson) meets a beautiful young married woman named Cora (Lange), taking a job in her diner. Soon the two become lovers and lure each other into freeing Cora from her loveless marriage to her older husband, Nick (Colicos). Freedom comes at a cost, though: murder and betrayal.
Warner Bros. has yet to detail technical specifications and special features.
