Music Box Films has announced the Blu-ray release of German Film Academy Award-winner, North Face. The critically acclaimed drama stars Benno Fürmann (Jerichow), Johanna Wokalek (The Baader Meinholf Complex), Florian Lukas (Good Bye Lenin) and Ulrich Tukur (The White Ribbon, The Lives of Others), and comes to Blu-ray on June 25th.
Synopsis: The North Face side of the Swiss Alps' Eiger Mountain, also referred to as the "murder wall", was once one of the most deadliest walls to scale. However, in 1936, Nazi propaganda urges a small group of German mountain climbers to face the incredible challenge head-on without ever looking back. Shot on location, the story of the 1936 expedition gives viewers an up close look at the amazing true story of German mountaineers racing to the top of the deadly mountain. Director Phillip Stölzl's film also received three German Film Critics Awards (Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Sound Design).
