The Weinstein Company to Distribute Todd Haynes' Carol

The Weinstein Company has acquired the U.S. distribution rights to director Todd Haynes' Carol. Based on the novel by Patricia Highsmith, Carol will team up Cate Blanchett and Mia Wasikowska, who will fall in love in 1950s New York.

Carol will be produced by Stephen Woolley (Hardware, The End of the Affair) and Elizabeth Karlsen (The Crying Game, Great Expectations).

Shooting of the film is set for October and will take place in London and New York.
