Texas-based Well Go USA and Tribeca Film have teamed up and acquired the North American distribution rights to Francesca Gregorini's thriller Emanuel and the Truth about Fishes (2013), starring Jessica Biel, Kaya Scodelario, Frances O'Connor, and Alfred Molina. The distributors plan a late theatrical run for the U.S.
Official synopsis: A troubled girl (Emanuel) becomes preoccupied with her mysterious new neighbor (Linda), who bears a striking resemblance to her dead mother. In offering to baby-sit Linda's newborn, Emanuel unwittingly enters a fragile, fictional world, of which she becomes the gatekeeper.
Earlier this year, Emanuel and the Truth about Fishes was screened at the Sundance Film Festival, where it was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize.
