Drafthouse Films announced today that it has acquired the North American distribution rights to British director Ben Wheatley's new film A Field In England (2013), starring Julian Barratt, Michael Smiley, and Reece Shearsmith. A theatrical release is already planned for 2013.
A Field In England follows a group of English Civil War soldiers in the 17th century who are captured by an alchemist and led into a vast mushroom field, where they fall victim to violent and nightmarish forces.
Note: The following films directed by Ben Wheatley are currently available on Blu-ray: Kill List, Sightseers, and Down Terrace. The ABCs of Death will also be available on Blu-ray later this month.
