Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for director Paul Greengrass' latest project, Captain Phillips (2013), starring Tom Hanks, Catherine Keener, John Magaro, Max Martini, and David Warshofsky. The film is set to open in theaters across the United States on October 11th.
Captain Phillips is based on Richard Phillips and Stephan Tatty's book A Captain's Duty: Somali Pirates, Navy SEALS, and Dangerous Days at Sea. The script was written by Billy Ray (Flightplan, The Hunger Games).
Synopsis: The true story of Captain Richard Phillips and the 2009 hijacking by Somali pirates of the US-flagged MV Maersk Alabama, the first American cargo ship to be hijacked in two hundred years.
