Sentai Filmworks has responded to recent complaints concerning an audio issue that affects limited copies of the
Kids on the Slope Blu-ray release, and announced a replacement program to assist affected consumers. The anime distributor has also issued a recall, with the intent of eliminating the problem completely.
The official statement reads as follows:
A small number of users have reported experiencing a technical issue affecting sound quality. The issue is isolated to the Japanese audio track of episode 11 (Blu-ray disc #2) on a small number of discs and is dependent on user equipment and sensitivity. The issue does not affect Sentai's DVD release.
Sentai has established a customer service program to assist those customers who believe they received an affected disc. Customers can click this link to participate.
Offer Restrictions: The Kids on the Slope Replacement Program can only be redeemed by mail to Right Stuf International. The Kids on the Slope Replacement Program is only applicable to the Kids on the Slope Complete Collection Blu-ray (SFBKOS100). Any materials accidentally shipped with an order will not be returned. The replacement program requires affected consumers to mail-in Disc 2 along with a completed form. Sentai Filmworks will, in turn, send a replacement disc, as well as a $5 gift certificate towards future Sentai Filmworks purchases.
