Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced the Blu-ray release of executive producer David Fincher and screenwriter Beau Willimon's House of Cards: The Complete First Season, starring Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright, Kate Mara, Michael Kelly, Kristen Connolly, Sakina Jaffrey and Constance Zimmer. The critically acclaimed first season of the Netflix original drama arrives on Blu-ray on June 11th.
Synopsis: Ruthless and cunning, ambitious U.S. Congressman and Majority Whip Francis Underwood (Spacey) and his equally focused wife Claire (Wright) will stop at nothing to conquer everything. This wicked political drama penetrates modern Washington D.C.'s shadowy world of greed, sex, and corruption with a story of political revenge and power plays. Based on the classic '90s BBC miniseries, the first season of Fincher's modern-day political drama also stars Mara as an upstart journalist caught in Underwood's web and Stoll as a young congressman trapped under Underwood's thumb.
Sony has yet to reveal technical specifications or special features for the 3-disc Blu-ray set.
