French label Carlotta Films has revealed that it is planning to bring back to French cinemas a number of timeless classic films, amongst them Japanese master Yasujiro Ozu's The Only Son and Tokyo Story, Rene Clement's Purple Noon, and Billy Wilder's Fedora.
On June 19th, Carlotta Films will begin its Yasujiro Ozu retrospective with a newly restored version of The Only Son (1936), the Japanese master's first sound film.
On July 3rd, Carlotta Films will introduce new restorations of Ozu's masterpiece Tokyo Story (1953) and his final film An Autumn Afternoon (1962).
On July 10th, Alain Delon will return as Tom Ripley in Rene Clement's classic film Purple Noon (1960). Carlotta Films will introduce a new 4K digital restoration of the film.
On July 24th, Carlotta Films will screen another classic French film, director Jacques Tati's masterpiece Jour de Fete (1949).
Finally, on August 21 French film lovers will have the opportunity to see on the big screen legendary director Billy Wilder's stunningly beautiful Fedora (1978), starring William Holden, Marthe Keller, Hildegard Knef, and Mario Adorf.
