IMAX Corporation and Picturehouse announced today that director Nimro Antal's (Kontroll) highly anticipated 3D film Metallica Through the Never will be digitally re-mastered into the IMAX 3D format and released wide in North America exclusively in IMAX theatres for a one-week run starting Friday Sept 27th. The film will then be expanded into more theaters on October 4th.
The film is produced by Charlotte Huggins (Journey to the Center of the Earth).

For four guys in a rock band of average height, to get a chance to unleash their 3D film on IMAX screens the size of buildings across the country is a mind-blowing thought. Official synopsis: Metallica Through The Never is a 3D feature film starring members of the iconic rock band and Dane DeHaan (Chronicle, The Amazing Spider-Man 2). DeHaan plays a young band crew member who is sent out on an urgent mission while the band is playing a rousing live set in front of a sold-out crowd and unexpectedly finds his world turned completely upside down.
