HBO has announced the Blu-ray release of executive producer Alan Ball (True Blood) and co-creators Jonathan Tropper and David Schickler's Banshee: The Complete First Season. The latest Cinemax original series stars Antony Starr, Ivana Milicevic, Ulrich Thomsen, Frankie Faison and Ben Cross, and arrives on Blu-ray on July 30th.
Synopsis: Lucas Hood (Starr) is an ex-convict who improbably becomes sheriff of a rural, Amish-area town while searching for a woman he last saw 15 years ago, when he gave himself up to police to let her escape after a jewel heist. Living in Banshee under an assumed name, Carrie Hopewell (Milicevic) is now married to the local DA, has two children (one of whom may be Hood's) and is trying desperately to keep a low profile... until, that is, Lucas arrives to shake up her world and rekindle old passions.
The 4-disc Blu-ray release of Banshee: The Complete First Season features 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround track, and UltraViolet Digital Copy (expires 8/7/2016). Extras have yet to be fully detailed but include audio commentaries, deleted scenes, featurettes and more.
