BBC Home Entertainment has revealed plans to release a single-disc, standalone edition of Doctor Who: The Snowmen, the long-running science fiction series' 2012 Christmas Special. The Snowmen streets on May 28th alongside the 2-disc Blu-ray release of Series Seven, Part 2, which BBC has now revealed will not include the holiday special.
Synopsis: Christmas Eve, 1892, and the falling snow is the stuff of fairytales. When the fairytale becomes a nightmare and a chilling menace threatens Earth, an unorthodox young governess named Clara (Jenna-Louise Coleman) calls on the Doctor (Matt Smith) for help. But the Doctor is in mourning, reclusive and determined not to engage in the problems of the universe. As old friends return, will the Doctor really abandon humankind, or will he fight to save the world and Christmas from the icy clutches of this mysterious menace?
The 2012 Christmas Special was written by showrunner Steven Moffat and directed by Saul Metzstein, The Snowmen also stars Richard E Grant, Dan Starkey, Catrin Stewart, Neve McIntosh, Tom Ward, Liz White, Joseph Darcey-Alden, Ellie Darcey-Alden, and the voices of Ian McKellen (as the Snowman) and Juliet Cadzow (as the Ice Governess).

Doctor Who: The Complete Seventh Series has already been confirmed for release later this year, and is available for pre-order at Amazon. No official word as to whether it will include the 2012 Christmas Special. Series Seven, Part 1 is currently available for purchase and no longer includes "The Snowmen."
