The Berlinale organizers announced earlier today that a brand new restoration of director Robert Wiene's classic silent film
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920) will be screened at the prestigious festival in 2014. Digitally restored, the film will also be screened with a brand new score by New York composer and multi-instrumentalist John Zorn.

The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari is being carried out by Murnau-Stiftung in collaboration with the Bundesarchiv-Filmarchiv and L'Immagine Ritrovata - Film Restoration and Conservation.
The premiere of the digitally restored version of
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari will be held in the large Concert Hall at the Berliner Philharmonie on February 9, 2014.
