Hoyts Distribution Becomes StudioCanal

Australia and New Zealand distributor Hoyts Distribution announced today that it has renamed itself to StudioCanal. Hoyts Distribution is one of Australia's leading independent film distribution companies.

Hoyts Distribution was acquired by StudioCanal in July 2012. The French giant also acquired and renamed Optimum Home Entertainment in the United Kingdom and Kinowelt in Germany.

Olivier Courson, Chairman and CEO of StudioCanal, said: "The company is fully integrated and despite the long distance, our collaboration is doing great. Having a single name is important for us but also for our partners around the world". Robert Slaviero, CEO Australia/New Zealand, also commented: "We are extremely proud and excited to be part of such a prestigious organization and look forward to delivering great films and great results to Australia and New Zealand".
