The official poster for the 66th Cannes Film Festival was released earlier today. This year, the festival's organizers have also released an animated version of the poster, which features Joanne Woodward and Paul Newman, photographed during the shooting of Melville Shavelson's A New Kind of Love (1963).
The official festival line-up is yet to be announced, but some of the films rumored to be screened this year include Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Real, Jim Jarmusch's vampire film Only Lovers Left Alive, Claire Denis' The Bastards, Jean-Luc Godard's Goodbye to Language 3D, and Hou Hsiao-Hien's The Assassin.
It has already been confirmed that Australian director Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby (2013) will open the prestigious event on May 15th.
Steven Spielberg will head up this year's Cannes Film Festival jury.
