A new trailer has been released for veteran Hong Kong director Johnnie To's latest film, Du zhan a.k.a Drug War (2012), starring Louis Koo,
Sun Hong-Lei, Crystal Huang, Lam Suet, Gao Yun-Xiang, and Gan Ting-Ting. The film is set to open in theaters across Hong Kong on April 2.
Drug War is nominated for three Asian Film Awards, including Best Film and Best Screenwriter.
Official synopsis (courtesy of the Rome Film Festival): Jinshan, China. Ming, a cold-hearted drug dealer, crashes his car into a convenient store after the exposure of his drug factory. In saving his own life, he locks his wife and brother-in-law inside the factory. Meanwhile, police officer Lei, extremely smart and careful, tries to track down drug criminals by offering an opportunity for Ming to reduce his future sentence.
Note: Texas-based Well Go USA will distribute Drug War in the United States. Preliminary theatrical and home video release dates are yet to be revealed.
