Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment announced today that Colin Trevorrow will direct the highly anticipated Jurassic Park 4. The film is set to open in theaters across the United States on June 13, 2014.
The script for the new Jurassic Park film, which will be shot in 3-D, was written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Rise of the Plane of the Apes).
Trevorrow's first feature film was last year's Safety Not Guaranteed (2012), starring Aubrey Plaza, Mark Duplass, and Jake Johnson. The film is already available on Blu-ray courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. See our listing and review here.
The first two Jurassic Park films were directed by Steven Spielberg, while the third film was directed by Joe Johnston (Captain America). The first film will be rereleased theatrically in 3-D on April 5th.
