Music Box Films has officially announced the Blu-ray release of writer/director Travis Fine's award-winning drama Any Day Now, starring Alan Cumming and Garret Dillahunt as a gay couple who take in a teenage boy with Down Syndrome. The film arrives on Blu-ray on April 23rd.
Official synopsis: In the late 1970s, when a teenage boy with Down Syndrome named Marco (Isaac Leyva) is abandoned by his drug-addicted mother, a gay couple, Rudy (Alan Cumming) and Paul (Garret Dillahunt), take him in and become the loving family he's never had. But as Marco discovers the strong bonds of family for the first time in his life, the unconventional living arrangement is discovered by authorities, who step in to tear the boy from the only stable environment he has ever known.
The film has won 10 film festival Audience Awards over the past year, including Best Feature Audience Awards conferred at such well-regarded fests as the Chicago International Film Festival, Seattle International Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, Provincetown Film Festival, Woodstock Film Festival, Napa Valley Film Festival, Key West Film Festival and Outfest 2012. Star Alan Cumming was also singled out by audiences at Seattle, Napa and Outfest, where he received Best Actor honors.
