
Acclaimed director Martin Scorsese will executive produce Luc Besson's (
Léon: The Professional,
The Fifth Element) latest project,
Malavita (2013), starring Robert De Niro, Tommy Lee Jones, and Michelle Pfeiffer. The film's U.S. distributor, Relativity Media, plans to have it in theaters across the country in October.
Based on Tonino Benacquista's novel
Badfellas,
Malavita tells the story of an ex-mafia boss who is relocated to France's Normandy as part of the U.S. witness protection program after he testifies against his former friends and colleagues.
