For the week that ended on February 3rd, Sony Pictures Entertainment had the top Blu-ray and overall package media sales with its release of Hotel Transylvania. This CGI comedy, which combines the talents of Adam Sandler and noted animation producer/director Genndy Tartakovsky, took in a worldwide box-office haul of $326 million (on top of an estimated $85 million production budget) when it premiered theatrically last September, and its small-screen debut managed similar success, beating previous top-sellers like Taken 2 and Looper and accruing an HD market share of 44%.

Behind it on the Blu-ray chart was another animated feature, The Dark Knight Returns: Part 2. The follow-up to the first installment of DC Animated's popular Dark Knight Returns tale, Part 2 had an HD market share of 71% and followed Hotel Transylvania, though by a fairly large gap - it only sold 18% as many Blu-rays as Hotel Transylvania. On the overall package media list, The Dark Knight Returns: Part 2 ranked at the number five spot (there, it sold 11% as many discs as Hotel Transylvania), with Downton Abbey: Season 3 actually coming in at second, where it garnered a 22% Blu-ray market share and sold 21% as many total units as Hotel Transylvania.

Finally, coming in at number three on the Blu-ray and overall package media lists was a top-three stalwart: Twentieth Century Fox's Taken 2. This action-thriller, the sequel to the 2008 Liam Neeson-starring hit, grossed over $374 million worldwide when it premiered theatrically last October; Taken 2 sold 14% as many Blu-rays as Hotel Transylvania and 17% as many total units, and its HD market share was 37%, which represented a slight uptick from its 34% Blu-ray market share of January 27th.
