BBC Home Entertainment has officially announced the Blu-ray release of Merlin: The Complete Fifth Season, BBC One's latest 13-episode series of the Smallville-esque adaptation of the King Arthur legends. Merlin and Arthur bring their fifth season adventures to Blu-ray on April 23, 2103.
After three years of peace and harmony, the future of the Camelot couldn't be brighter. But as King Arthur (Bradley James) looks to bring the kingdom into an equally bright future, the seeds of Camelot's destruction are drawing together. The evil Morgana (Katie McGrath) is hiding in the darkness. As an old face returns to the castle and gains a position amongst Arthur's inner circle, Merlin (Colin Morgan) must protect the king more than ever, for the new arrival is Mordred (Alexander Vlahos), the druid boy whose destiny is to end the king's life and bring chaos down on Camelot. But as the death song of King Uther (Anthony Head) haunts the castle and Guinevere (Angel Coulby) crosses over to the dark side, both Merlin and Arthur find that their destiny is approaching. The battle of Camelot is about to reach a deadly conclusion and nothing will ever be the same again.
Technical specifications have yet to be detailed but are expected to mirror those of the Blu-ray edition of Merlin: The Complete Fourth Season. Special features have not been revealed either. Season Five episodes include:
